We are looking for a commercial Project Manager to manage the offering process on tenders of vessels from small boats to midsize and larger vessels and ferries in Africa.

The Project Manager refers to JGH Marine’s Chief Commercial Officer and will be responsible for the identification, bidding and winning of vessel projects in Africa.
The responsibilities and work assignments/tasks are the following:
- Outreach sales both at existing and new customers, hereunder nurture new projects, customers, markets and similar
- Preparation of offer on tenders as well as direct offers to possible customers
- Sourcing and identification of most competitive suppliers for project
- Contract negotiations with both customers and suppliers/partners
- Opening letters of credit, bank guarantees, insurance bonds and similar
- Review of specifications
- Contract writing and signing with customer and key suppliers
- Handover the project to JGH Marine Technical Organisation for delivery
- Follow up on payments
The travelling activity is mostly to Africa and is expected to be up to 100 days annually.
The ideal candidate
You come with relevant experience from turnkey project business in Africa, where you have been involved in the preparation of the tender offer including purchasing and logistics. If you have experience from the shipbuilding it is an extra plus. Your educational background is commercial, but more importantly you are a strong businessman with focus on earnings.
Through you experience you have developed your ability to see the opportunities in a project, and your commercial creativity to put together the winning bid, in addition you are able to write a durable contract document.
Aside from full working proficiency in English verbal and written, it would be an advantage if you master other languages like Spanish or French at similar level.
You are well-organized and with strong attention to detail as required to run a profitable and successful bid business. You therefore also master MS Office / Excel at an advanced level.
Furthermore, you are robust, a team player, accountable and able to work independently combined with high self-motivation.
It is expected that you are prepared for extensive travel activity to Africa, and the job also includes the possibility of posting to Kenya.
